If you are planning on doing anything with plants, you need this book. It is the most informative and easy to read gardening book on the market.

A pretty good choice for gardening help and for native and adaptable plants for your zone.

I think this is a great book. Lots of good information and ideas which we are always looking for. We live in Thousand Oaks, CA, and our summers get quite hot. I saw a drought resistant plant that I thought was lovely at the nursery several months ago but did not want to pay the price. I had forgotten to write down the name of the plant When I went back, it was of course gone. I was hoping I would find it in this book but no luck. We are very satisfied with the book and definitely glad we purchased it.
Not informative enough September 9, 2009 M.A. Waddell (Santa Fe, NM) I was dissapointed in this book. It has some nice pictures, but not very much descriptive text about ideas for landscaping and how to go about it.
