| Customer Reviews: My daughter is thrilled September 24, 2007 M. Stack 16 out of 16 found this review helpful
I ordered this book for my daughter who lives in Oregon and is living in an older house with an existing lawn with trees and shrubs. She tells me now that she knows exactly what do to as the months goes by to care for her plants and the lawn. She is especially happy about the information on lawn care. I am very happy that I ordered this book for her and she is too!
Great guides for PNW gardeners, both professional and hobbyist June 18, 2007 S. A. Sadler (Seattle WA) 14 out of 15 found this review helpful
I would strongly suggest Mary Robson's two books on gardening for Oregon and Washington, both Month-By-Month Gardening in Washington & Oregon: What To Do Each Month To Have A Beautiful Garden All Year (Month-By-Month Gardening in Washington & Oregon)Washington & Oregon Gardener's Guide
In her books she considers the inputs that will be required by the gardener, easy of growing, water use, design considerations, they are both good guides for beginning and advanced gardeners.
Great reference book May 11, 2010 Linda Grant Saw this book at the library and decided I had to have it for my personal library. It is a very useful book for those of us who live in the Pacific Northwest.
Doesn't include ANY information about vegetables! May 10, 2010 Kelly M. Christensen (Brandon, MS United States) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
Just thought I should make that clear, since it isn't exactly clear based on the ambiguous title of this book. It includes everything else (flowers, trees, ground cover, shrubs).
Gardening in Washington and Portland is more accurate June 5, 2010 Sharon Green (Las Vegas, NV) This book was a real disappointment. It is simplistic. For example, the Oregon portion only lists gardens in Portland, when there are numerous gardens all over the state and two of the most famous Iris gardens, and one huge Dalhia garden are in Oregon but are not mentioned. There is very little to be learned to assist one with a coastal garden, and both states have western coastal regions. This is a fine book for beginners but any gardener with a modicum of experience would be well advised to find some other publication.
